Holistic wealth partner for entrepreneurs and families – specialising in investment management, estate planning, and retirement planning with a disciplined, long-term approach.
“A life without cause is a life without effect.”
I began my career in 1995 at Alexander Forbes Consultants and Actuaries in Port Elizabeth, straight from university. From advising fund members, the transition to private client advice was natural, and by 1998 I was employed as a Wealth Manager at Alexander Forbes Financial Planning Consultants, becoming the youngest Senior Director in that business at the age of 30.
My experience at Alexander Forbes and later at Fincorp gave me valuable retirement fund consulting and employee benefits experience. I bring a disciplined and considered investment view to my clients and have been a regular contributor to the financial press on financial planning matters, including serving as Chairman of the well-known Sunday Times Money Club.
I love dealing with people who value help, are often successful and curious in their own lives and pursuits; who appreciate others, and what they can bring to one’s life.
Building genuine, collaborative relationships with clients.
The foundation of every client relationship.
Focused on sustainable outcomes, not short-term noise.
An ability to move away from the herd, and group think.
I have played hockey competitively since the age of 13, and still do – including being selected in 1991 to the SA Mens Hockey Squad. I love being active, mountain biking, running, hiking and travelling. I am a passionate sports supporter. When not exercising and close to nature, I enjoy reading autobiographies of exceptional leaders and following the world of investments and business.
Holistic wealth partner for entrepreneurs and families – retirement, estate and cross-border planning.
When a client realised he was paying more as a percentage of the asset, maintaining his jet ski (a depreciating asset), than managing his financial assets.
I am always available, like making complex problems simple, and am passionate about both a savings culture, and investing.
